Wind Conditions at Doljo Beach
Doljo Beach is one of the best places to kiteboard during the Amihan season which runs from approximately October through the end of May, with the best months in January and February. During the Amihan season the wind comes from the Northeast, and Doljo gets windy when there is a little more northerly direction. Wind speeds can range anywhere from 10-20+ knots.
Spot Information
Doljo Beach is a great flatwater spot, with occasional 1-2 foot waves when the wind is over 20 knots. Doljo is fairly shallow (about waist deep) at mid-tide until the reef line / drop-off. Inside the drop off, the area has a sand and seagrass bottom. At very low tide, it may be too shallow to kite unless you walk further out where you may encounter more rocks and sea urchins, so best to wear water shoes if you plan to be standing in the water such as during kite lessons.
For foilers, you’ll have to wait until the higher tides as it will be too shallow for foils during low tide. Of course, if you walk or body drag out past the drop off, you can still get started on a foil at high tide.
There are a few dangers to be aware of such as sea urchins on the bottom and very rarely jellyfish. The beach can also be quite busy with swimmers, especially in front of Dominguez Beach on the weekends. There are marked swimming areas at both The Bellevue Resort and Modala Resort, and you may encounter some jet skis in front of The Bellevue Resort and Dominguez Beach Resort. Also, be careful of boat anchors and moorings at lower tides.

How to Get to Doljo Beach
From the main tourist hub in Alona Beach, you can simply drive west on Panglao Circumferential Road. Continue straight through the stoplight at Poblacion Panglao near the 7-11. There are several ways to access Doljo Beach.
The easiest and nicest way to enter Doljo Beach is through either The Bellevue Resort or through Modala Resort, though you may have to at least patronize one of the restaurants or pay an entrance fee.
If you want to enter for free, there are public access roads immediately before and after The Bellevue Resort. The one just after (to the West) of The Bellevue Resort is the easiest to find.
You can also enter and pay to park at Dominguez Beach (which is actually still a part of Doljo Beach). To get to the Dominguez Beach area, turn right after the covered basketball court and follow the dirt road until the end. Dominguez charges an entrance fee of 20 PHP per person.
Another option is to park outside of Mura Ami Resort and walk through the public access path to the right of the resort.
